Our Story
Genesis Birth Concepts Inc. is a two-part entity that was established in 2024 by Certified Nurse Midwife, Lynette Allen-Pye. The first entity is the Women's Wellness and Midwifery Center, here, women can seek out services such as wellness and breasts exams, obstetric care, and STI screenings. You can also receive services like pelvic floor exams, newborn circumcision, and behavioral health therapy. GBC will nurture a family atmosphere that will allow nurses and staff to care for every patient from puberty through post-menopause.
The second entity is the Genesis Birth Center. The opportunities that Genesis Birth Concepts will be able to help is a demographic area which is highly underserviced in the South Atlanta region of Georgia, more specifically, the city of East Point. Genesis Birth Concepts will strive to deliver a level of service that exceeds the expectations of our patients. We offer 4 birthing suites, where our mothers can give birth either via natural childbirth or water birth in our ceramic birthing pools, by our Certified Nurse Midwives, who carry a wealth of experience and education.
GBC will be able to afford the opportunities to extend further assistance to women that would normally not seek out proper health care due to lack of funds or health insurance. Our services are not limited to just women of color, but to all women who travel near or far to seek proper medical care. Each patient at Genesis Birth Concepts will be unique and require care that is specific to and for them as individuals and their families.
Meet Our Practitioners
Lynette Allen-Pye, CNM
Lynette Allen-Pye is a highly experienced Certified Nurse Midwife with over 30 years of service, including leadership roles and more than 4,000 successful deliveries without maternal deaths. She hails from a lineage of Granny Midwives in Louisiana and Mississippi and views her career as a calling. Her extensive education includes degrees in nursing and human services counseling, and she has received prestigious recognition, such as the Armentia Jarret Award in 1994.
Lynette rose through the ranks from Staff Nurse to Service Director at Kaiser Permanente before retiring. She later worked in a midwifery practice in East Point, Georgia, where she envisioned raising the standard of women’s healthcare. In 2020, she founded Genesis Birth Concepts Inc., a medical facility and birth center aimed at improving healthcare in the Atlanta region. Lynette is a strategic thinker, passionate about advancing women's health and midwifery.
Cherisse Howell, CNM
Cherisse Howell is Certified Nurse Midwife and a nurse leader with 24 years of clinical experience. She has a lifelong passion for helping others. With more than 10 years of experience in nursing leadership her work has concentrated on advancing access to care for the most disproportionate members of the community. She has led projects on quality healthcare initiatives and health care metrics that improve overall health via community engagement.
In 2023 she graduated from Georgia College & State University with a master’s in nursing and a specialty in nurse midwifery, becoming a certified nurse midwife. As a midwife she is committed to providing quality care for her patients, empowering them to achieve optimal wellness for mother and baby. She is a current student of the inaugural Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Morehouse School of Medicine.
